We base our protocols on international evidence-based medicine, adapting closely the South African and Canadian guidelines and shaping them to the Mauritian needs. We have the latest equipment, all the necessary tests to detect the related conditions as well as wound care to prevent limb loss. We insist on an initial package for our diabetic patients so that they gain maximum benefit from our clinic. Our initial check up includes all relevant blood tests, urine tests, eye tests, foot check, nerve tests, blood supply tests for the feet, heart ECG and if required stress ECG. As part of our initial package, we also offer a full consultation with both a general practitioner who is fully trained at the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology (CDE), a centre of excellence in South Africa as well as our in house highly qualified diabetic nurse practitioner with more than a decade of experience in diabetes care. Advice on eating habits is also given in the initial package. The subsequent check-ups are less intensive and are tailored to the needs of individual patients. Our clinic also treats general medical issues and we also offer phototherapy and laser treatments for various skin issues. Hair transplant, skin grafts and other minor skin surgical procedures will also be offered. Other specialists will rotate from time to time to offer a world class care for our local population. We will also offer packages for complete check-ups for males and females as well as cancer screenings. Through our South African network, we can facilitate advanced treatments which are not available in Mauritius, in the best centres in South Africa.
