Farmcity Centre for Agriculture, Research and Entrepreneurship (Farmcity CARE) is the nonprofit arm of Farmcity. It was formed to ensure social sustainability of Farmcity’s overarching mission: to increase access to nutritious vegetables for everybody. We believe the most transformative way to increase access to healthy vegetables is to promote equitable production and distribution systems: - By teaching the community to grow their food in an agroecological way, we can increase access at a hyper local level. - By conducting research into the local food system, we can identify and find informed solutions for barriers to access in the local food system. - By teaching entrepreneurship using agriculture as a lens, we can create a pipeline of youths who are equipped with the tools to build kinder, more sustainable agribusinesses of the future.
