Kara Gold is a junior gold exploration and mining company operating out of Uganda – one of the remaining untapped, gold-rich counties on the African continent. The Company owns assets in the district of Buhweju, Western Uganda, where some of the oldest and richest gold deposits in the country are to be found. The Company’s exploration assets cover an area of almost 15,000 Ha with an option over exploration and mining assets covering in excess of a further 50,000 Ha within the same gold province. Our gold exploration assets in western Uganda cover more than 60% of the Buhweju goldfield in surface area. The Company also operates a gold mine in the Kamwenge district, western Uganda, where the insitu gold is hosted in quartz veins and weathered granitic outcrops. Our focus is to develop a leading gold mining enterprise in the region that brings a high quality product to the market at fractional costs to market norms.
